Shira Gazit is a forever over-dramatic (according to her siblings) and endlessly enthusiastic creator (according to her parents). She’s an actor, singer, producer, director, photographer, and cinematographer who fell in love with the magic of storytelling as a kid in the audience. Shira aims to share that same joy by being part of the journey from page to stage or screen—creating work that moves people, sparks connection, and inspires reflection. She values every project as a chance to grow as an artist and make an impact—whether on a castmate, crew member, or audience.
Growing up in a lively household with two amazing parents and an older brother and sister, Shira was an enthusiastic, loud kid, who somehow still got straight A’s. Her love for theater began thanks to her grandmother, a devoted theater enthusiast, who took her to countless shows. No matter the ending—happy or sad—Shira always cried when the curtain fell. That emotional pull cemented her desire to move others the same way.
Shira trained at Re-Acting Studio in Tel Aviv, where she was also represented, before moving to New York to study in the Two-Year Conservatory Program at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She has been a has made her off- Broadway debut with Are We In Love Productions and have been working with them since. She has been on Projects off- Broadway, and on screen in various productions.
Beyond acting, Shira is passionate about every aspect of storytelling. She has worked as a producer, director, cinematographer, assistant director, production assistant, stage manager, and social media manager on numerous theater and film projects.
Outside of the industry, Shira is also a photographer and stylist, having worked for three years as a fashion photographer and stylist for a vintage clothing brand. When she’s not creating, she enjoys sketching, cooking, traveling, and occasionally being anxious when she shouldn’t.
